Sample Principal Reflections
"Our teachers are engaged in a year-long study, Monday afternoon for about an hour-and-a-half where they learn the TELS programs, and how to access the curricula units. Teachers will learn the theory in the first semester and will apply it in the spring. So we are going to come back. Although Sarah's taught the theory the first semester, we need to see if the theory is working. So, we are going to apply the theory and we are going to watch teachers struggle with developing."

"There is not much money that comes from to us in from the district in dollars for technology, so it becomes incumbent upon the school to find the resources to do this. So, we had a volunteer project six years ago where we wired the school because we had a vice principal who loved that kind of stuff. So we got that project going. We have a very resourceful parent club that raises a lot of money for us each year. We are one of the School Improvement Plan schools in the State of California and that was a grant that was awarded years ago and it's continued to be awarded year after year. So we take some money out of our SIP fund to allow for computerization to happen."

"Well, there has to be a network to support this long term, as you tried to establish with the online thing. If you introduce the concept to Teacher A, and Teacher B and C and D are not lined up with this thing, at say even a different school or even at a school district, that makes it difficult for this one-person-school carrying the banner. So if the message does go back to the school, I think the teacher would want to contact their principal so they have some administrative support around this thing."
