TELS includes seven universities, the Concord Consortium, and seven school districts, where researchers work with classroom teachers to test and refine curricular activities and provide professional development to help teachers customize their materials and the methods they use for coaching their students.

The experiences of the participating teachers inform our research. All TELS participants come together each summer for a retreat during which we plan science instructional programs for the coming year.
