How to Run the WISE 3 Authoring Tool

To run the authoring tool do the following:

MACINTOSH USERS:

  1. There is a known bug in the Macintosh Java Web-Start program that may prevent WISE 3.0 from loading properly. If your Macintosh is running Mac OSX 10.4+ (10.4 or more recent) you should download a patch to fix the Java bug.   To do this follow the steps below.
  2. Make sure that you are logged into the computer as an administrator, or a user with administrative privileges. (Open up "System Preferences..." and click on "Accounts". Verify that your account has "admin" privilege)
  3. Go to: http://confluence.concord.org/display/CCTR/WebStart+OSX+Java+1.5+Fix
  4. Run the application called "FixJavaWebStart.dmg"
