I am a professor. I want to use SAIL to develop a semester-long blended learning curriculum (like UC-WISE CS3).
I can't complete the whole curriculum before the students start using it. I can develop a syllabus with assignments and topics covered. I will determine the order in which to present the topics as I see how the students grasp what I give them.
I need to plan out roughly the whole semester and then work top-down to fill in the actual content.
In the text, when I make references to other days (e.g. two sessions ago) I would like it to resolve those to actual days. (e.g. last Monday) I can tell the system the the calendar for the whole semester including holidays. I need it to map my curriculum days to calendar days. After reviewing this, I need to be able to compress and expand sessions in order to have nice breaking points. (e.g. finish the term project before Thanksgiving).
All the while, I must be able to modify the offering as needs arise.
As I progress through it, I'd like to annotate the curriculum with our experience in using it.
At the end of the semester, I'd like to abstract it into a portable form for use by other professors at other institutions.
