The "interactive immediacy" of the WISE experience would be enhanced by the addition of a score system which integrates seamlessly with my goals and actions in the project.
The Teacher should be able to turn scoring On/Off when they administer a project to their class. Default is On.
Items with score value could include:
- Notes (example: 200 points). Submitted by student for teacher approval. The teacher must review and award final points using a revised streamlined interface.
- Challenge Question Multichoice (ex: 50 on 1st try, 30 on 2nd try, 10 on 3rd/4th try)
- Challenge Question TypeIt (ex: 75 points, as student must recall and type a short answer correctly. Half point for partial mispellings)
- Spinning Evidence Keys. Activated on evidence pages after a student gets a Challenge Question wrong.
- Submitting a WISE Drawing. Must include data. Score affirmed by Teacher.
- Online Discussions. Points awarded if student team submits at least X responses (specified by Teacher).
- Xtra Credit points which can be manually granted by the classroom teacher.
- Other?
Note that a SCORE/STATUS SCREEN should be added as a tabbed window which can wipe on/off in the Navigation Bar window. Shows the students overall status and score in the project.
